Smoke-Free Homes Win

Written by Kellie Heywood

Smoke-free homes are increasingly becoming the norm. There are great reasons for keeping smoking out of your house, not least that it may help you quit.

According to an article in Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 72 per cent homes in US are now smoke-free zones, up from 43 per cent in 1992-93. CDC Director Dr Julie Gerberding said, "In the past decade, we've seen tremendous declines in second-hand smoke exposure in the workplace and public places. However, millions of children and non-smoking adults remain at risk because their homes are not smoke-free."
